Mark Christensen is a multi-instrumentalist composer and performer. His main instruments are electric guitar (with a lot of electronic manipulation of the sound) and the Chapman Stick, a 12-stringed instrument with the range of guitar and bass that is played by tapping the strings.
Past projects include working as a composer for film and theatre and as producer and musician on CDs by Arty LaVigne, Courtney Brocks and the John Tower Group (of which he is a former member), as well as his own forthcoming solo CD. Past collaborators include Kareem Khalifa, Brian Robison, Kevin Peckham, Su Lian Tan, Keith Watts and Cyrus Chestnut. He occasionally performs as auxiliary live guitarist for NYC rock band Ghost Ghost and is currently a member of the improvising post-prog trio Stone Document. Since 2000 he has studied the Guitar Craft approach to guitar with progressive rock pioneer Robert Fripp.
Formerly from L.A. he is now living in Vermont but performs regularly in New York City and throughout the Northeast.
